How to Shop Like a Pro During Black Friday in July
Amazon’s Prime Day 2019 is one of the biggest sales of the year, but it’s not your only chance to score some mid-Summer deals. Plenty of other stores are offering big discounts during what’s now known as Black Friday in July. Below, I’ve put together some tips on how to make the most of July’s Black Friday events.
Start with Ebates
First, log in to Ebates so you can take advantage of Cash Back offers at the stores you’re already planning to shop. If you’re not a member, you can join now and start earning in the form of a Big Fat Check. You’ll get $10 after your first purchase of $25 in any participating store, and you can earn an additional $25 for every friend you refer.
Have your wish list ready
You probably have a running list of items you’ve had your eye on. Now is the time to prioritize that wish list, so you can make the most of the sales. Put small appliances, electronics, clothing and jewelry at the top as those are likely to be hot items this July.
Think about the everyday items that aren’t on your list
It’s time to stock up on everyday essentials as many stores will be marking down items like clothing basics, beauty supplies, household goods and more. Look out for special coupons from your favorite stores on all the things you normally shop for. Walmart, for instance, is planning to offer huge rollbacks on July 15 and 16 to compete with Amazon in addition to their deals that are already live.
Know when to shop
Black Friday in July sales start at the first of the month and generally last until mid-month just after Amazon Prime Day ends. That gives you a few weeks of discounts and deals to take advantage of. Walmart has been running its deals since June 29.
Stay engaged and be ready to click “buy”
Some deals only last for a few hours, so you’ll need to act quickly if you want to score the biggest discounts. Follow your favorite stores on social media and check their websites frequently if you want to stay in the loop. Dell, for instance, has quantity caps on its deals so you’ll need to act fast. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Know where the deals are
Walmart isn’t letting Prime Day slow down its own sale. The store is calling its big push for Black Friday in July “Google Week” where you’ll find big discounts on a variety of popular Google products like Google Home. If you’re in the market for a laptop, Dell is your best bet with up to 40% off PCs and electronics. Big name outfitters like Macy’s, JCPenney and Kohl’s are also coming to the table with a variety of discounts on clothing, jewelry and more.
That’s just the start as there are plenty of other stores jumping on the Black Friday in July bandwagon. If you follow these tips and pay attention to your favorite stores as the deals roll out, you’ll be shopping like a pro in no time at all.
