Pick up your fruits when they’re in season and you’ll get the best flavor, nutrition and prices. Additionally, you can support your local farmers when you buy in season. We’re in a sweet spot at the end of summer and beginning of fall, so the variety is even better than usual. I love absolutely anything pumpkin and have been known to go a bit overboard with baking during this time of year.

Sure, this curd could be used in a pie, but I prefer to cut out the middleman and spoon it directly from a jar. It’s full of lots of healthy fats, too.
There are some fruits that this works with — I’d recommend this method with papaya as well. Something about its frozen flesh matches a creamy, custardy dessert. My favorite way to eat this is to sprinkle it with some lemon first.
