14 Tips for Saving Money at Kohl’s

1. Sign Up for Mobile Alerts
With our busy schedules, we don’t always have time to keep up with the sales at our favorite stores. Kohl’s offers text-message alerts to notify you of upcoming promotions and events. Text SAVE07 to 56457 to sign up for mobile sale alerts and get a 15% off Kohl’s coupon. Kohl’s sends only five to seven texts per month, and you can opt out at any time.
2. Sign Up for Kohl’s Emails
Stay informed about the latest, greatest and most affordable must-haves from Kohl’s by signing up for the store’s regular emails. Plus, score an instant 15% off your next purchase.
3. Shop During Kohl’s Cash Promos
Kohl’s occasionally runs a Kohl’s Cash promotion, during which you receive $10 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent in store or online on all regular-price, sale and clearance items (excluding gift cards).
Spend your Kohl’s Cash online or in a Kohl’s store during the specified time period, which is typically about 10 days following the promotion’s end. There is no minimum price on the items you can redeem, so if you’ve had your eye on a pair of earrings or something else under $10, use your Kohl’s Cash to snag it for free.
4. Shop With Rakuten
The easiest way to get a little money back in your pocketbook is to shop Kohl’s with Rakuten to earn 1% Cash Back every time you make a purchase. Subscribe to Rakuten’s email list for notifications about additional Cash Back savings opportunities from your favorite stores — including Kohl’s.
5. Shop the Clearance Section
Kohl’s already has some of the best deals around, but prices get even better in the clearance sections online and in stores. With prices up to 80% off, you can find the dresses and beauty products you want or stock up on kids’ and men’s apparel for the rest of the family.
6. Enroll to Earn Rewards
With Kohl’s Rewards, you earn 5% on every purchase. Kohl’s will notify you when you have Rewards-earned Kohl’s Cash in your account, at which time you will have 30 days to spend it. (This is separate from Kohl’s Cash accrued during designated earning periods.) You’ll also get a sweet birthday gift, more access to savings and exclusive perks to help you earn more rewards even faster.
7. Open a Kohl’s Credit Card
If you are a frequent Kohl’s shopper, look into opening a Kohl’s credit card. As a cardholder, you’ll be able to take advantage of benefits such as special discounts of 15% to 30% multiple times per year. You’ll also get 35% off your first purchase using your new Kohl’s card.
If you charge $600 a year on your Kohl’s card, you’ll become a Most Valued Customer and receive exclusive savings opportunities, plus monthly free-shipping events. You can also stack card savings with Kohl’s Cash and rewards.
8. Check for Rebates
Save even more with mail-in rebates on select items. Check your purchase for a message about potential mail-in rebates or browse the Kohl’s website for notifications. This is a great opportunity to save on household goods and essentials.
9. Stack Up to Four Coupon Codes Online
Kohl’s lets you use up to four Kohl’s coupon codes on your online order, as long as they are different types of coupons (e.g. percent off, dollar off, free shipping and Kohl’s Cash). When you shop on a mobile browser (not the Kohl’s app), you are allowed to use a maximum of two promo codes. Although you may enter your promo codes in a different order, they will always be filtered as follows:
- Department-specific dollar-off or percent-off promo codes.
- Dollar-off coupons (such as Kohl’s Cash and Rewards) will be subtracted from the subtotal.
- One sitewide percent-off discount can be applied.
10. Buy Online and Pick Up Curbside or In Store
Buy online and choose the option for free in-store pickup if you need something quickly. Orders are ready for pickup in just two hours, and you will get an email letting you know it’s ready.
11. Price Adjustments

12. Senior Citizen Discounts
Wednesdays are senior days at Kohl’s. People over age 60 receive a special 15% discount in stores. The discount is good on regular-price, sale and clearance items, but it cannot be used with Kohl’s Cash or other discounts. It may be best to use the discount on hot items you want to snag before they get to the clearance rack. Also worth noting: Monday is Military Monday, and active service members and veterans (plus their families) can get a 15% off coupon.
13. Download the Kohl’s App
With the Kohl’s mobile app, you can find everything in the palm of your hand. Get sales alerts, store and access your Kohl’s Cash and rewards points, and more on your mobile device. When you shop at Kohl’s stores, the app can act as a handy price scanner too.
