The week leading up to Christmas is filled with last-minute deals and discounts, which is great if you’re a shopper who procrastinates. But, the real secret is just waiting until after Christmas when everything you’re eyeing right now is heavily discounted to make room for next season. To help you plan ahead, we’ve rounded up seven stores offering the best-after Christmas sales in 2020.

Bed Bath and Beyond

Bed Bath and Beyond always has great sales leading up to Christmas for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but the store’s after-Christmas sale is a treasure trove of deals, especially if you’re stocking up on seasonal goods for next year. Bed Bath and Beyond’s after-Christmas clearance page is live now, and you can expect discounts to get better on Christmas day and last through New Year’s Eve. Last year, we saw seasonal goods discounted up to 50%.

Best Buy

Best Buy is a great place to get major discounts on open box and clearance items, especially after Christmas when returns are on the rise. In previous years, we’ve seen discounts between 40 and 50% on open box or returns. You can find a complete listing of deals at the Best Buy outlet. Expect big ticket items like TVs to be on sale through December 31, and you might even be able to snag a Playstation 5 if you follow Best Buy’s official Playstation page for restocks.

Target

Target started a page dedicated to after Christmas sales, and it’s filled with decorations and seasonal goods that you may want to take a look at now. If history repeats itself, you’ll find toys and games up to 50% off, Christmas decorations up to 70% off and clothing, house goods and kitchenware on clearance. Target tends to continue its popular holiday deals well after Christmas.

Walmart

Walmart typically holds an end-of-year clearance sale after Christmas where you can find thousands of items up to 70% off. Last year, the deals included almost every department, so there was a little something for everyone. The best deals are usually found on after-Christmas clearance items like decorations, gift wrapping supplies and Christmas trees.

Kohl’s

Kohl’s heavily discounts seasonal items after Christmas, and the best deals usually start online on Christmas day or the day after Christmas. It’s a great time to pick up Christmas decorations for next year, and to stock up on any season clothing that is on its way out to make room for new styles. Kohl’s already has a Christmas clearance page going, so check it for deals on anything you’ve been eyeing.

Macy’s

Macy’s is one of the stores that does after Christmas sales best. Details haven’t been announced for this year’s lineup, but we can make a few predictions based on what happened in 2019. Last year, Macy’s offered activewear 40 to 60% off, continued its wearables discounts on smartwatches and fitness trackers, heavily discounted footwear and featured bedding and home goods at up to 50% off.

Lowe’s

Lowe’s cycles through its seasonal merchandise pretty quickly, so you’ll find big deals on lights and other decorations leading up to and after Christmas. There may even be some summer and fall seasonal items tucked away at your local store if you know where to look. It’s the perfect time to grab a big ticket item like a Christmas tree, which can be found for up to 50 to 60% off depending on the model.
