Its patented Photo Electrochemical Oxidation (PECO) works to eliminate indoor air pollution at a molecular level by using free radicals to oxidize pollutants. Traditional HEPA filters are able to destroy pollutants of about 300 nanometers in size, but PECO is able to destroy them at sizes as small as 0.1 nanometers.
