ButcherBox was founded by Mike Salguero after he participated in a grass-fed cow share program and was instantly impressed with the taste and health advantages that came with eating grass-fed beef rather than grain-fed beef. He looked into the topic more and learned that only about 1% of the beef consumed in the United States is 100% grass-fed and not everyone has access to it. As a result, he founded ButcherBox, a monthly meat delivery subscription box, to help drive the market for 100% grass-fed beef and make it more accessible to everyone.
