Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld founded Woom upon realizing that the bike industry wasn’t catering to the needs of children. There were children’s bikes, but they were simply smaller versions of adult designs and they weren’t suited to the needs and proportions of children. In 2013, they used their biomedical and marketing experience to create a bike designed with children in mind. Woom is now one of Europe’s most beloved children’s bike manufacturers, and it has a quickly growing presence in the U.S. and China.
Woom bikes are ultralight (40% lighter than conventional kids’ bikes), ergonomically designed and made to stand up to the rough and tumble nature of kids’ play. Bikes aren’t all that Woom sells, however, and you can find the below items at the retailer.
- Toddler bikes: Woom offers bikes for children as young as 1.5 years old in its Woom Original collection.
- Bikes for children: You’ll find bikes for children ages 4 to 11 in the Original, Off, Off Air, Now and Up collections.
- Bikes for young teens: Woom has bikes for teens ages 12 to 14 in all of its collections, creating the perfect link between kids’ bikes and adult bikes.
- Spare parts: You can teach your children to maintain and repair their own bikes with Woom, since the company offers a full range of spare parts for all its bikes.
- Accessories: From mountable water bottles to safety lights to protective equipment, Woom has biking accessories for kids of all ages.
